COOL MUSIC MONDAY: United State of Pop w/DJ Earthworm

2009 was a great year for music but, 2010 is here and everyone is doing their '09 wrap ups. A lot of original music is coming out and separating the real from the fake and the one hitters from those with more longevity. I've been realizing that a lot of musicians who put their truest self on a record end up hanging around a little longer.

This is a good time to reflect on more than just the music you've been listening to but reflect on what you have put out into the universe yourself. Has it really been you or have you been delivering what the people want to hear/see. Just know whatever you put out is what you will get back. If you don't like the results you might want to take this time of rebirth to re-evaluate your approach. Make sure you are doing you and not giving in to the "pop-standards" that are flooding the media outlets. Like Uncle Rush says, DO YOU!!

What a night it was! I want to just say thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate with us! We had a great time! It was a wonderful way to wrap up a wonderful year for the JBC! A PAC-DIV Xmas Party!

This Saturday my boys Mibbs, Like, and B-Young of Pac-Div had a holiday house party and toy drive that was pretty poppin! They performed later in the night at killed it! They rocked the house so much that the police showed up and had to shut it all down! We tried to tell the police to be COOL but they hid behind their badge of honor..."To protect and serve" the COOL? I don't know about that...

COOL MUSIC MONDAY - The Incredible J*DAVEY!!!

I know, were a little late with this one but, it's a definite must post, must share and must groove on a COOL Music Monday!! I was first introduced to the angelic sounds of Ms. Jack Davey when the Roots released their Game Theory project back around the time of our inception in August of 2006. She KILLED the hook on Atonement, track 12 and one of my favorite records from the project. Did I mention that she also spits and spits hard! You might have heard her get off on WE MADE IT '09 and iFEEL off that Curly Tops & Nautica Jackets by LAUSD. Download that NOW if you don't have it, by far one of my favorite mix-tapes of '09!

Here is one of the first singles, Crawl All Over, off the duo's up coming release, Boudoir Synema which is buzzin already and set for release this Friday, December 25th. The track is HOT, stays on repeat and I'm pretty sure the project will do just the same. Check out the track and go hit up iTunes and COP on the 25th!
